Meet Our 2023-2024 Board of Directors
We're excited to introduce you to the incredible individuals who make up our Pride Board. United by a shared commitment to fostering equality, diversity, and inclusion, each member brings a unique set of skills and experiences to our organization.
Lexi MacDonald,
Chair,
She/They
Meet Lexi, a passionate and dedicated individual contributing their creative talents to the Pride GFW board committee. Lexi serves as the Chair and lends their knowledge and creativity in social media management. With a pronoun preference of she/they, Lexi proudly identifies as a member of the Pride community, advocating for the mental and physical health and wellbeing of their fellow community members. Their deep-rooted belief in the power of education as a means of understanding and appreciating differences fuels their efforts to create a more accepting society.
Lexi has a passion for creativity, having a background in art, their goal is to create more safe spaces available year round in Grand Falls-Windsor to better serve the community.

Sarah Vardy,
Secretary
Sarah is a funeral director and embalmer who graduated from Keyin College in Grand Falls-Windsor. Sarah is originally from Springdale but has been working in Grand Falls-Windsor for the past 3 years. She is a member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and was also a member of her high schools Gay-Straight Alliance. She has a passion for supporting those who are a part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and is honoured to be a part of Pride GFW.
Kim Penney,

Kim Penney is a Program Coordinator with Status of Women Central. She has a Bachelor of Science (Biology), Diploma in Aquaculture and Medical Laboratory Assistant. She is the Treasurer on the Pride GFW Board, Secretary for the Central Newfoundland Hospital Auxiliary, and volunteers in the hospital gift shop. She has also served on the Allied Youth NL Board for several years. Kim’s dog Ozzy is her constant companion and spends most of his days at the office bringing a smile to the faces of those who visit.
Carly Hynes,

Carly is a student at the College of the North Atlantic and will be completing the Mental Health and Addictions program in 2025 before beginning her studies in Social Work. In her first year of post-secondary studies, Carly was the President of her college’s student council. As a member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community herself, she is passionate about making her community an accepting place for all.
Natalie Smith,

Natalie was born and raised in Saint Lunaire-Griquet, NL until the age of 10 where she then moved to Toronto, ON for 30 years. After Natalie and her husband moved back to Newfoundland, they opened C&S Unique Gifts in Grand Falls-Windsor. They are one of the few places in Grand Falls-Windsor to supply Pride merch year round and strive to provide a safe and inclusive place for all. Natalie is a proud ally of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and looks forward to learning more & working with the community on our common goal - Awareness, Inclusiveness & Equal Rights.
Beverly (Bev) Jones,

Bev is a retired classroom music teacher, a wife, mother and grandmother.
Bev spends many of her days volunteering in some capacity.
She is on the Board of Status of Women Central, a member of the GFW Concert Band (as well as librarian) and accompanist for the Central Cancer Survivor Choir.
Bev looks forward to being on the Board of Pride Grand Falls-Windsor as a Member at Large .

Will White,
Member at Large
Will is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of TOP where he oversees the organizations daily operations. He also owns several businesses in Central Newfoundland. In addition to his professional endeavors, Will actively participates in various initiatives and partnerships aimed at advancing diversity and inclusion. Will believes in giving back to the community whether it's supporting local organizations or participating in community events, Will is committed to making a meaningful impact.
